Reds Community Fund

The Reds Community Fund blends together the team's long history of community involvement with a present-day commitment to at-risk kids throughout Greater Cincinnati.

Cincinnati is unique in that baseball has been part of its culture for more than 140 years. Baseball's roots run deep in the inner-urban neighborhoods of the tri-state region, and the Reds Community Fund is actively searching for the kids and neighborhoods that need support.

Since its inception in 2001, the Reds Community Fund has used baseball as a vehicle to reach out to kids. As the nonprofit arm of baseball's first professional team, the Community Fund strives to create programming that connects underserved children with baseball and softball, while creating fundraising programs that connect baseball with the community.

Outreach programs include the Reds Rookie Success League, a free, coed, character-building program for 6-12 year olds in Cincinnati, Butler County, Clermont County, Louisville and Dayton; Reds Baseball and Softball Funding Program, which underwrites expenses for more than 750 inner-city teams throughout Reds Country; and Field Renovation Program, which has helped restore over 350 baseball and softball fields. Including the P&G Cincinnati MLB Urban Youth Academy, "Match" Program and Greater Cincinnati RBI programs, more than 45,000 kids and coaches will benefit from our programs in 2016.

A series of creative, baseball-themed fundraising events and programs provides some of the necessary funding. The 2016 schedule features returning events such as Coldwell Banker West Shell Redlegs Run, Reds Baseball/Softball Camps, Family Catch, CBTS Marty Brennaman Golf Classic, Prestige AV & Creative Services Reds Community Fund Celebrity Poker Tournament, RCF Telethon and Split The Pot raffle at all 81 home games.

Whether it's renovating baseball fields, providing opportunities to kids with disabilities, underwriting expenses for inner-city teams or hosting its "Reds Rookie Success League," the Reds Community Fund is dedicated to improving the lives of youth through baseball.
