Royals Charities

Grant Inquiry Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in Royals Charities, the charitable arm of the Kansas City Royals. The application process begins with a Grant Application (PDF) submitted to Royals Charities outlining the specific nature of your request. Please fill out the application and return to:

Your organization will be asked to present the following information:

  • Operate in Kansas City Metro area
  • Be a 501 (c) (3) with a Federal tax exempt letter
  • Budget for entire organization not to exceed $5,000,000

Two Grant Cycles

Royals Charities has two grant cycles (Spring and Fall), as follows:
  • Spring - March 1 - grant recipients will be notified no later than April 15
  • Fall - October 1 - grant recipients will be notified no later than November 15

Once the application is received and reviewed by the Board of Directors, Royals Charities will call to schedule a visit.

If an application is incomplete or missing pertinent information, the application will be returned to sender for resubmission in a timely manner or for consideration in the next cycle.

What we fund:

Royals Charities
  • New Programs
  • Tangible items
  • One-time capital expenses
  • Special supplies or purchases

Average amount for a grant is $5,000

What we do not fund:

  • Operating expenses or salaries
  • Individuals
  • Event sponsorships
  • Scholarships/Endowments
