Monday, October 29, 2012, Hurricane Sandy tore through the Eastern Seaboard of the United States leaving a path of destruction in its wake, affecting over 8 million people. After the recent devastation to his hometown New Rochelle, NY, Miami Marlins Pitcher Tom Koehler wanted to figure out a way to give back to the Tri-State area that has been such a significant part of his life. Grateful for his career as a professional baseball player, Koehler hosted the Pitch for Relief Clinic at Marlins Park on Saturday, December 1st. Kids joined Marlins Outfielder Juan Pierre for fielding and base running tutorials, Marlins Pitchers Brad Hand and Alex Sanabia taught pitching techniques in the Marlins Bullpen, and "Mr. Marlin" Jeff Conine gave batting advice in the Marlins Batting Cages. After the Clinic, Koehler and his MLB guests held a question and answer period followed by a mini autograph signing for all of the participants. Over $3,000 was raised for the Hurricane Sandy Recovery Fund.
