Comments: As a junior in 2009, Dean was named First-Team All-SEC and First-Team All-Lousiana, and was selected to the SEC All-Tournament Team. He was selected in the 10th round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft by the Minnesota Twins but did not sign.

22Deglan, KellinR.E. Mountain SSCL/R6'02"1951992-05-03HS
Comments: Every year, there tends to be at least a couple of intriguing players to come out of Canada. Deglan's got the chance to be at or near the top. He has a good idea at the plate and behind it, with good overall hitting skills and future power projection. He has a good arm and is surprisingly athletic and agile. He'll need to make sure he doesn't get too thick or soft with his big frame. Left-handed-hitting catchers who actually can stay behind the plate tend to be a hot commodity, so expect Deglin's name to come up in early-round consideration.

8Deshields Jr., DelinoWoodward Academy (GA)CFR/R5'09"1881992-08-16HS
Comments: DeShields has two things really working in his favor: his plus speed and his bloodlines. His dad of the same name spent many years in the big leagues, and the hope is that the younger DeShields could be a similar type of player. He does have the potential to be a very good hitter and puts his speed to use on the basepaths. He has more than enough range to handle center field and the hands to play second if a team wanted to give that a look. Scouts have had a hard time getting a consistent read on DeShields. He's toolsy and seems like he'll fall right into the old risk vs. reward debate. It seems likely a team will be willing to take the plunge at some point not too deep into the Draft.

79Dietrich, DerekGeorgia TechSSL/R6'01"1951989-07-18JR
Comments: A third-round pick by the Houston Astros in 2007, Dietrich has shown plenty of ability to hit over his career at Georgia Tech, though it hasn't always been consistent. He does seem to be saving his best for the right time, as he's been producing well all spring. Most feel he'll have to move from short to third as a pro, at which point questions about his future power will come more into play. He's certainly been evaluated enough over the years, so it will come down to which team has seen him perform best, especially this year, and believes the bat will continue to come on.

503Duke, AdamSpanish Fork HS (UT)RHPR/R6'02"1851992-05-06HS
Comments: With a solid fastball and above-average breaking ball, people were starting to take more notice of this Utah high school product this spring. He throws strikes, though his overall command is just OK, and he has good poise on the mound. He's head and shoulders above anyone else in his area talent-wise, and that ability has him moving up charts. The Utah high school scene hasn't produced much in the way of big league talent, but Duke could be the exception to the rule.

126Dyson, SamSouth CarolinaRHPR/R6'02"2051988-05-07SR
Comments: Dyson has already been drafted twice, first in the 19th round out of high school, then again in the 10th round a year ago as a red-shirted sophomore. He has power stuff, with a fastball he can throw in the 92-95 mph range. He has a solid-average slider and an average changeup to complement the heater. Dyson missed his freshman season with labrum surgery and some teams will be scared off by his medical reports. If he can stay healthy, he has middle-of-the-rotation type stuff.

54Eibner, BrettArkansasCFR/R6'03"2051988-12-02JR
Comments: Eibner is a two-way player who has some ability as an outfielder, though most agree his future is on the mound. His time spent hitting has no doubt held back his development as a pitcher, but he still shows the potential to have three pitches he can throw for strikes with smooth mechanics. Once he focuses on pitching, there might be more in the tank and his athleticsm certainly helps him on the mound. He's an intriguing college starting pitching prospect with upside -- and if he continues performing like he did at the start of the season, he will rush up Draft boards.

205Encinas, GabeSt. Paul HS (CA)RHPR/R6'03"1951991-12-21HS
Comments: Encinas is an intriguing, if not elite, right-handed pitching prospect from the California high school ranks. He has a good sinking fastball that induces plenty of ground balls. While his secondary stuff is more inconsistent, he does a terrific job of pounding the strike zone and going right after hitters. He has plenty of room for growth in that 6-foot-3 frame, and a team that wants to dream on that projection might take a shot with him.
