This Day in Baseball History
April 18, 1981 > The Pawtucket Red Sox and Rochester Red Wings of the International League play 32 innings of baseball before the game is suspended at 4:07 the following morning. The game will be resumed on June 23, with the Red Sox scoring a run in the bottom of the 33rd to win, 3-2. Future Major League stars Wade Boggs and Cal Ripken Jr. go a combined 6-25 in the contest.
