An unsung pickup for Brewers general manager Doug Melvin, Hairston helped the Brewers cover center field and second base while Carlos Gomez and Rickie Weeks nursed injuries. He was last traded in 2009, from the Reds to the eventual World Series champion Yankees. Hairston said he's hoping to be a lucky charm again.
