Cardinals at the plate: Tagg Bozied singled in the first inning and scored the first two runs of the game. Preston Wilson drilled a double to the opposite field to drive home the road team's first run. Albert Pujols struck out in his first at-bat and crushed a run-scoring double in his second. Pujols also scored on a sacrifice fly.

Orioles at the plate: Leadoff hitter Brian Roberts sliced two singles for the Orioles. Nick Markakis added a hit of his own, and Adam Donachie and Jay Payton both added hits in the first six innings.

Cardinals on the mound: Former closer Adam Wainwright was impeccable, working into the fifth inning and holding the Orioles to five hits. Dennis Dove got one out in relief, and Troy Cate pitched two scoreless innings.

Orioles on the mound: Adam Loewen struck out Adam Kennedy and Pujols in the first inning, but he also walked a batter and allowed Wilson's double. He emerged from the second unscathed. Reliever Brian Burres worked three innings and allowed three runs, but only one of them was earned. Burres allowed three hits.

Grapefruit League records: Cardinals 7-3-1; Orioles 6-2-2.

Up next: The Orioles will head to Fort Myers on Sunday for a game against the Red Sox, and Steve Trachsel will be matched up against Boston's Daisuke Matsuzaka. The Cardinals will also play in Fort Myers on Sunday, but they'll visit the Braves, where former Cy Young Award winner Chris Carpenter will make his third start of the spring. Both games start at 1:05 p.m. ET.
