Twins at the plate: Michael Cuddyer hit a single, a double and scored one run for the Twins as he improved his spring batting average to .400. Alexi Casilla drove in two runs, one on an RBI single up the middle and another on a sac fly. Justin Morneau went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Cardinals at the plate: David Eckstein went 1-for-3 with a double in his first action since being sidelined with a strained oblique muscle on Feb. 28. Adam Kennedy hit an RBI triple in the fifth and scored a run that same inning on a groundout by Eckstein.

Twins on the mound: Johan Santana gave himself a gift for his 28th birthday as he threw four scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and walking two while striking out four. Left-hander Dennys Reyes gave up two runs on two hits in one inning of work.

Cardinals on the mound: Kip Wells threw three scoreless innings as he gave up two hits, walked one and struck out three. Ricardo Rincon gave up his first runs of the spring, allowing two runs on two hits and a walk in one inning of work.
