Blue Jays at the plate: John McDonald singled in three consecutive at-bats for Toronto and drew a walk in his only other plate appearance. Scutaro drove in two runs with a double to left in the fifth inning. Reed Johnson was 1-for-3 at the plate and his batting average is now .290 this spring. Catcher Brian Jeroloman had three hits, including a double and two RBIs.

Twins at the plate: Justin Morneau went 2-for-3, which included an RBI single in the first inning. Joe Mauer hit an infield single off the glove of second baseman Marco Scutaro in the third to drive in Carlos Gomez from third base. Craig Monroe doubled to left field later in the inning to score another Twins run.

Blue Jays on the mound: Dustin McGowan pitched five innings and gave up three runs on seven hits. The right-hander did not walk a batter in his outing and struck out four. Left-hander Jesse Carlson pitched two perfect innings. Randy Wells loaded the bases with one out in the eighth, but recorded a swinging strikeout and a fly out to left to get out of the inning unscathed.

Twins on the mound: Livan Hernandez found trouble in his fourth start of the spring, giving up six runs on nine hits over four-plus innings. The right-hander also walked one and struck out three. Left-hander Randy Keisler pitched two scoreless innings. Juan Rincon gave up two runs on two hits and walked three in his one inning of work. Joe Nathan pitched one scoreless inning, allowing one hit and striking out two.

Up next for the Blue Jays: Toronto travels to Bradenton, Fla., on Monday to face the Pirates. Right-hander A.J. Burnett is expected to start for the Jays, with lefty Zach Duke starting for the Pirates. Game time is 1:05 p.m. ET.

Up next for the Twins: Francisco Liriano's comeback from Tommy John surgery will continue on Monday when the Twins host the Marlins. It's the southpaw's third start this spring and he'll face off against Florida right-hander Chris Volstad. First pitch is scheduled for 12:05 p.m. CT.
