Cardinals on the mound: Right-hander Kyle Lohse, who pitched for the Phillies in 2007, allowed five hits and one run in five innings. He also struck out five. Right-hander Adam Ottavino and left-hander Trever Miller each threw a scoreless inning. Right-hander Jess Todd allowed a run in the ninth to take the loss.

Phillies on the mound: Right-hander Chan Ho Park is keeping the competition for the last spot in the rotation interesting. He allowed three hits in 4 2/3 scoreless innings. He also struck out six. Park has a 1.54 ERA this spring. Right-hander Clay Condrey threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings and right-hander Joe Bisenius tossed a scoreless ninth to pick up the win.

Cardinals at the plate: A quiet day for St. Louis, which managed just six hits. Khalil Greene went 2-for-3 with a double. Albert Pujols doubled. Skip Schumaker, Rick Ankiel and Brendan Ryan also singled. Ryan's hit drove in the club's lone run.

Phillies at the plate: Chase Utley made his Grapefruit League debut, going 0-for-2 with a strikeout and a groundout. Jayson Werth crushed a 2-1 pitch to left field for a solo home run in the first inning. It was Werth's second homer this spring. He went 2-for-3, his other hit a double. Greg Dobbs went 2-for-3 with a double. Miguel Cairo went 2-for-2 and scored the winning run in the ninth on an RBI double by Jason Ellison.
