The Storm Chasers held on to win a slugfest after building a 14-1 lead. Every Omaha batter had a hit by the second inning. Max Ramirez hit Omaha's first grand slam of the campaign in the third inning. Jarrod Dyson was 4-for-6 with an RBI and two runs. Tony Abreu, Johnny Giavotella, Kevin Kouzmanoff and David Lough added three hits apiece, with Giavotella scoring four times. Abreu is batting .556 (10-for-18) with three consecutive three-hit games.

Northwest Arkansas scored three in the first en route to a series opening win in San Antonio. Rey Navarro crossed home on an errant pickoff throw during John Whittleman's plate appearance. Whittleman proceeded to hit a two-run homer, plating Wil Myers. Starter Justin Marks scattered two hits and three walks while striking out five over 4.0 innings. Buddy Baumann (3.0 IP, 1 H, 1 BB) fanned five and Patrick Keating (2.0 IP, 1 H, 1 BB) earned the save.

Wilmington Blue Rocks

Wilmington won the finale at Myrtle Beach by plating three unearned runs in the fifth. Whit Merrifield capped the scoring with a two-run single. Yordano Ventura made his Wilmington debut, yielding a run on three hits and three walks over 3.2 IP. Ryan Dennick limited the Pelicans to a run on two hits and a walk over the next 4.1 frames. The loss went to Nick Tepesch, a product of Blue Springs High and the University of Missouri.
