    The Kansas City Royals announced today that center fielder Lorenzo Cain has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain. To take Cain's place on the 25-man roster, the club has recalled outfielder Brett Eibner from Omaha (AAA). Eibner, 27, will be in uniform (#12) for tonight's game against the St. Louis Cardinals at 7:15 p.m.

    Major League Baseball announced today that Royals minor league players Jorge Bonifacio (World Team) and Hunter Dozier (Team USA) will participate in the 2016 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, which is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT on Sunday, July 10 at PETCO Park in San Diego. This year will mark the first Futures Game appearance for either player.
