Pujols, Rolen, Morris, Renteria, Cepeda and Jack Clark among those joining the list of Cardinals attending Winter Warm-Up
Early Bird autograph tickets available Saturday, Jan. 10

St. Louis -- Cardinals Care announced today that several additional players have been confirmed for this year's Cardinals Care Winter Warm-Up. Albert Pujols, Scott Rolen, Edgar Renteria, Hall-of-Famer Orlando Cepeda, slugger Jack Clark and newly acquired players for 2004, Jeff Suppan and Reggie Sanders, will be among the dozens of current and former Cardinals who will be signing autographs at the Winter Warm-Up.

Many players' autographs are free with the admission pass, while others require an autograph ticket available through a specific additional donation. Autograph tickets will be available, until sold out, each day of the Winter Warm-Up. In addition, a limited number of autograph tickets will be available at a one-day only "Early-Bird Special" on Saturday, January 10, from 10 a.m. until noon at the Busch Stadium ticket office. By obtaining autograph tickets at the Early-Bird Special, fans will arrive at the Warm-Up knowing in advance which players they will be meeting and will also be able to avoid potential long lines at the event. Please check the Cardinals website for complete details, including every players' autograph dates, times and donation amounts, if applicable. Attached is a list of those players who require an autograph ticket along with the donation amount, date and time of signing. There is no Early Bird surcharge and all donation amounts for autograph tickets at the Early Bird Special will be the same amount as at the Warm-Up.

The 8th Annual Winter Warm-Up will be held January 17-19, 2004, at the Millennium Hotel in downtown St. Louis, followed by the annual Baseball Writers Dinner on Tuesday, January 20. The three-day Warm-Up will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day and will feature autograph sessions, clinics on baseball techniques and strategy, and interactive games. Panel discussions with team owners, scouts, broadcasters and other baseball officials and personalities will also take place throughout the weekend. One of the most exciting features of the Winter Warm-Up is the memorabilia. There are silent and live auctions, the Cardinals Care Team Store and dozens of baseball exhibitors and dealers. Some of the more exciting auction items include an Albert Pujols autographed game-used jersey, a Scott Rolen autographed game used-bat and a base signed by many of the 1982 World Champion Cardinals. Also up for auction are many packages and experiences, such as the Ultimate Cardinals Day, which allows four fans to play catch on the field, tour the clubhouse, have dinner and sit in the front row during a game. Please see the website for a more complete listing of memorabilia.

Admission passes to the Warm-Up are now available in person at the Busch Stadium ticket office, by phone at 314-421-3060 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, or via the internet: www.stlcardinals.com. Admission passes, valid for all three days of the Warm-Up, are the same as last year: $30 for fans age 16 and over, $10 for children age 5 to 15, while kids under 5 are admitted free of charge. Members of the military, police and fire departments with an active ID will again receive one free adult ticket. Those must be obtained in person at the stadium ticket office before January 16. Fans may obtain a special package that includes one night at the Millennium Hotel, two adult passes to the Warm-Up and a Cardinals goodie bag for $159 by calling the Millennium at (314) 241-9500. Additional rooms are available for $99.

All proceeds from the Winter Warm-Up benefit Cardinals Care, the team's community foundation that cares for kids. Thanks in large part to fan and sponsor support of the Winter Warm-Up, Cardinals Care has distributed more than $5.9 million to build youth ballfields and fund area children's organizations since its inception in 1997.
