CINCINNATI -- The St. Louis Cardinals medical staff issued the following updates this afternoon on third baseman Scott Rolen and outfielder Chris Duncan;
Rolen underwent surgery today in Cincinnati for the removal of scar tissue and a bursectomy and a manipulation of his left (non-throwing) shoulder while under anesthesia. Rolen will begin a rehabilitation program and it is anticipated that he will make a complete recovery for the 2008 spring training.
Duncan saw Dr. Michael Brun in St. Louis yesterday for a sports hernia. He is in the process of total rest for a minimum of 10 days and will be re-evaluated at that time to determine a future plan for treatment.
