MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Brewers today announced the 2008 promotional schedule which is highlighted by six all-fan bobblehead dates, a variety of new promotions and numerous season long ticket specials. The announcement was made by Brewers Executive Vice President - Business Operations Rick Schlesinger.
"Whether it's all-fan giveaways or any number of other events, our schedule includes a promotion for nearly every game of the year," Schlesinger said. "Our goal is to continue to add value for those attending Brewers games and improve upon what we believe is already the top fan experience in all of Major League Baseball."
The Brewers opening series against the San Francisco Giants at Miller Park features two all-fan giveaways. At the Home Opener on Friday, April 4 at 1:05 pm, all fans in attendance will receive a 2008 Brewers magnetic schedule (compliments of Edy's Grand Ice Cream and Pick 'n Save). Two days later on Sunday, April 6, every fan in attendance will receive the season's first bobblehead modeled after 2007 N.L. home run champion Prince Fielder (compliments of Palermo's Pizza and Pick 'n Save).
Additional all-fan bobblehead dates throughout the season include Ryan Braun on Sunday, June 1 (compliments of the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board); the Klement's Famous Polish Racing Sausage on Sunday, June 22; the Barrel Man (an original Brewers mascot/logo) on Sunday, July 6 (compliments of American Family Insurance); J.J. Hardy on Sunday, August 24 (compliments of Time Warner Cable) and Corey Hart on Sunday, September 7 (compliments of Badger Mutual Insurance).
In addition to the bobbleheads, fans will enjoy many more great promotional items this season including four different Sentry Food collectible posters. They include Hardy (May 31 vs. Houston), Hart (July 13 vs. Cincinnati) and Braun (August 10 vs. Washington). To complete the four-poster series, fans can pick up a Fielder poster through an in-store purchase at Sentry Food Stores in late August (Aug. 25-31 while supplies last).
During the second homestand of the season from April 23-27, the "5-County, 5-Day Celebration" will get underway. All residents of Ozaukee, Washington, Waukesha, Racine and Milwaukee Counties can purchase tickets for half-price at the Box Office on all reserved seats (excluding the Miller Lite Beerpen and the $1 Uecker Seats). During the weekend of Mother's Day against the Cardinals (May 9-12), the Brewers will host "Spring Madness" at Miller Park with all seats priced at $26 and less available at half price (excluding the Uecker seats). For these four games, small Pepsi products and hot dogs will be just $1 each.
In addition, Friday, June 13 will include a special cap giveaway for the first 15,000 fans 17-and-older, courtesy of Culver's Restaurants, as the Brewers open interleague play at Miller Park with a nine-game, 10-day homestand against the Minnesota Twins, Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles. Also on that homestand on June 17, the popular Little League Night will take place as all little leaguers in uniform (registered in advance) will have the opportunity to parade around the warning track in a pre-game ceremony.
On Saturday, July 12, the first 40,000 fans will receive a Brewers Prince Fielder jersey drawstring bag, courtesy of Midwest Airlines. Additional promotions during the month of July include a Miller High Life cooler bag (July 26), Chevrolet Brewers key chain (July 27) and Brewers car flag, courtesy of West Bend (July 31).
Meanwhile, the 10th Annual 5K Sausage Run/Walk will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 26 with all proceeds supporting the youth recreation and education programs of Brewers Charities. All participants will receive a T-shirt, Klement's hot dog, Pepsi product and a ticket voucher redeemable for one of more than a dozen regular season games in 2008.
Families with children will also want to mark their calendar on Sunday, August 10 for Brewers Kids Club Day presented by Associated Bank. Brewers Kids Club members will have the opportunity to participate in a pre-game on-field parade around the warning track before the Brewers take the field against the Washington Nationals.
The Brewers also have a number of ongoing ticket promotions during the 2008 season. Badger Mutual Insurance Family Days will take place again during every Sunday home game. Fans may purchase a Terrace Reserved ticket, hot dog and small soda, for only $10. Tickets must be purchased at least one day in advance. (The September 28th game vs. the Cubs is $13).
Another popular promotion returning in 2008 is the bp C'mon Back Club in which all fans will have the opportunity to receive a free Terrace Level ticket by completing a bp C'mon Back Card. Fans qualify by making six purchases of eight gallons of gas or more at participating bp stations. Redemption dates include: May 27, June 3, July 9, August 8, August 19, and four dates in September (Sept. 2, 4, 8 and 23rd).
Fans interested in meeting their favorite Brewers will want to join the Brewers once again this year for Autograph Fridays. Beginning April 25 and continuing through most Friday home games (excluding April 4, July 4 and September 26), six-to-seven Brewers players and/or coaches will autograph photo cards for fans at various locations on the Miller Park concourse.
This year's Fan Appreciation Night will take place on Thursday, September 25. On this night, fabulous prizes will be given away throughout the game, including a 2008 Chevrolet vehicle. All fans in attendance will receive a Brewers team photo card. During the regular season finale on Sunday, September 28, the Brewers will hold the Majestic Athletic Shirt Off Their Back Promotion. Fans will have the opportunity to win a game-worn jersey from the Brewers players and coaches following the conclusion of the game against the Cubs in a random ticket drawing.
