Miller, Cards yet to strike deal
Negotiations between team, lefty specialist continue

As Day 5 of the drama unfolded, both sides would say only that they were still trying to get a deal done.
"We're still continuing negotiations, but we have not reached an agreement. We're still in talks," Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak said through a team spokesman.
Barry Praver, Miller's agent, said in text messages that talks were "continuing" and that "we will let you know when we are done."
The sides seemingly were headed toward an agreement on Thursday when Miller came to St. Louis for a physical examination. After the exam, Miller left town without signing and Mozeliak said "language" of the contract was being discussed.
The conversations, apparently, have been ongoing ever since. There has been no indication what has caused the delay.
Miller would seem to be an answer to the Cardinals' pursuit for left-handers to add to the bullpen. For the American League champion Tampa Bay Rays, Miller was a lefty specialist with a 2-0 record, two saves and a 4.15 ERA. He held left-handed batters to a .209 average.
