Prices for autographs from players, past and present, vary in range from $75 to free of charge with a paid admission into the event.
All monies collected from autograph tickets sales will go to Cardinals Care, the organization's community foundation that funds programs, grants and events for children in the St. Louis area. The Cardinals' Winter Warm-Up is Cardinal Care's largest annual fundraiser.
There are a limited number of tickets available for each player who has committed to an autograph time. To purchase tickets and to find out specific information regarding the autograph schedules, -- including dates, times and donation amounts for all participating players -- visit cardinals.com/winterwarmup.
The most expensive autographs, priced at $75, are for Carlos Beltran, David Freese, Matt Holliday, Yadier Molina and former Cardinals managers Whitey Herzog and Red Schoendienst. Autographs for Chris Carpenter and Adam Wainwright have been priced at $50. Manager Mike Matheny will sign for $30, while the autograph of manager Tony La Russa will cost $40.
La Russa, who recently released a memoir titled "One Last Strike," will also be hosting a free book signing on Sunday.
Pre-autographed baseballs signed by Bob Gibson ($75), Jason Motte ($30) and Ozzie Smith ($75) will be available at the on-site Cardinals Care Store throughout the three-day event. Motte's wife, Caitlin, is expected to give birth to the couple's first child in mid-January, which will preclude him from being able to attend this year. Lance Lynn will be absent due to a family wedding.
The Cardinals have also scheduled several Minor League players to appear during the autograph sessions, including the organization's Minor League player of the year (Oscar Taveras) and pitcher of the year (Seth Maness). Michael Wacha, the Cardinals' top pick in the 2012 First-Year Player Draft, will also be in attendance.
Several Cardinals alumni -- a group that includes Scott Cooper, Ken Dayley, Cal Eldred, Al Hrabosky, Rick Horton, Tom Lawless, Joe Magrane, Cliff Politte, Kerry Robinson and Jason Simontacchi -- will be signing autographs for no charge.
Tickets for admission to the Winter Warm-Up remain on sale for $40 at cardinals.com/winterwarmup. Doors will be open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Jan. 19-20 and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Jan. 21.
In conjunction with the winter baseball event, local sportswriters will be hosting the 55th annual St. Louis Baseball Writers dinner. The dinner will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 20 at the downtown Millennium Hotel.
At the dinner, Molina will be honored as the St. Louis Baseball Man of the Year. He will also be presented with his Rawlings Gold and Platinum Gloves. The Darryl Kile Award will be given to Jake Westbrook. Wainwright, Matt Carpenter, Allen Craig, Holliday and Beltran are among others from the Cardinals' 2012 roster who will be recognized.
Tickets for the dinner cost $125 and can be purchased by sending a check or money order to the following address: St. Louis BBWAA, P.O. Box 605, St. Louis, MO 63188. A portion of the ticket price may be tax deductible.
Fans wanting to purchase tickets to both the Writers' Dinner and Winter Warm-Up can do so at a discounted price of $150. That represents a $15 savings over purchasing the two tickets separately.
