With the chance to pitch the Cardinals to 30 games above .500 looming large, Jason Marquis started off great with four perfect innings. But he quickly faltered in the fifth and sixth, and the Redbirds couldn't recover. Mark Grudzielanek drove in St. Louis' only run on a first-inning single.
