Down one with two outs in the eighth, the Cards received an immeasurable boost from Albert Pujols' three-run homer, which helped end the club's seven-game skid and provide a bit of breathing room in the NL Central. Anthony Reyes rebounded after a difficult first inning, working six-plus.
