Chris Carpenter seemed unhittable through the first three innings, twirling and swirling while mowing down the Mets. The fourth was a different story, as Carpenter allowed three runs that stood the test of time en route to collecting the loss. Yadier Molina and Joe Thurston each notched RBIs, but it proved not enough in the finale.
