Chris Carpenter held the Brewers hitless through 4 1/3 innings before surrendering a double, but that was the lone hit Milwaukee would notch against the right-hander. Albert Pujols' two-run double, which broke a scoreless tie in the fifth, was all the support Carpenter needed.
