Second Annual San Diego Padres Comunidad Awards

The San Diego Padres are pleased to announce the Second Annual Hispanic Heritage Comunidad Awards for 2013! These awards were established to recognize and pay tribute to individuals or organizations whose work makes a positive impact on those who live and work in the Hispanic community. In support of the Padres Foundation community vision, four (4) awards will be given throughout the year, one each in the areas of children's health (LIVE), education (LEARN), youth baseball/ softball and fitness (PLAY), and First Responders (SERVE).

The Padres are seeking nominations of individuals or organizations who display leadership in strengthening and improving our region's Hispanic community. Three (3) distinct nomination and recognition periods are outlined below:

February 1 - April 16, 2013
Nominations will be accepted for individuals or organizations whose emphasis is in the area of children's health. The winning individual or organization will be honored on the field before the Padres home game on Friday, May 17, 2013.

April 17 - May 28, 2013
Nominations will be accepted for individuals or organizations whose emphasis is in the area of children's education. The winning individual or organization will be honored on the field before the Padres home game on Friday, June 21, 2013.

May 29 - July 16, 2013
Nominations will be accepted for individuals or organizations whose emphasis is in the area of youth baseball/softball and youth fitness and individuals or organizations in the First Responder community. The winning individuals or organizations will be honored on the field before the Padres home game on Friday, August 23, 2013.

All four San Diego Padres Hispanic Heritage Comunidad Award winners will be honored on the field before the Padres home game on Friday, September 20, 2013 as part of our Hispanic Heritage Night festivities.
