Teams
Picture yourself, standing in the batter's box, wearing your very own personalized St. Louis Cardinals uniform, facing 1982 World Series Championship starting pitcher Dave LaPoint . You swing and it's a line drive in the gap. As you stand on first, you wonder if stealing second base would be worth it with 3 - time NL Gold Glove Winner, Tom Pagnozzi behind the plate. Your teammate enters the box and you hear Hall of Famer Ozzie Smith telling you from the dugout "2 down, run on anything" The ball is hit...
This sounds like a dream right? Fortunately for you, this is an opportunity to truly experience what it is like to be a major league ball player. You have the opportunity to spend a week playing ball alongside Cardinal Legends, and the fun doesn't stop at the end of the day. After the games, evening events allow you to socialize with these pros and listen as they recount their tales of life in "the bigs".
You don't have to be a true pro to come and experience this event. All skill levels are welcome!
Not only do you have the chance to play with your St. Louis Cardinals Heroes, but you also have the chance to support our country's heroes. The beneficiary of the 2012 Legends Camp is Hire Heroes USA. Hire Heroes' mission is to offer transition assistance, job search assistance, and job placement services to those who have honorably served in the US military - and to their spouses - in order to reduce veteran unemployment.
"Sign me up for next year!!!!! I love the new format.... Playing the legends 5 inning/7 games a stroke of genius! Thanks for everything...."
