The Texas Rangers are breaking barriers with the African American community in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, by establishing relationships with the S.M. Wright Foundation, the Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce, the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce, and the National Multicultural Western Heritage Museum & Hall of Fame. The Texas Rangers participated in the groundbreaking of the museum's "Pam Grier Community Garden" this summer. We celebrated the community garden with actress Pam Grier as she threw out the first pitch at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. In addition, the Rangers joined MLB to honor humanitarian Jackie Robinson. Players wore number 42 in his honor.
