Officially opened on Nov. 9, 2006, the Taichung Intercontinental Stadium features a stunning architectural design and a beautiful lighting system in this government-owned, state-of-the-art baseball facility located in Taichung, the third-largest city in Taiwan.
While relatively new, The Taichung Intercontinental Stadium has a history steeped in international baseball competition, having hosted play in the 2006 and '10 Intercontinental Cups, and qualifying rounds for the 2008 Olympics and the 2007 Baseball World Cup. In fact, "intercontinental" was only added to the name after the 2006 Intercontinental Cup took place. The stadium has also hosted the MLB All-Star Series in 2011, which featured games played between Major League Baseball players and the Chinese Taipei national team.
The Taichung Intercontinental Stadium is home to the Sinon Bulls of the Chinese Professional Baseball League.
